Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Vendor Manager- Coupa/Ariba/Banking and involves overseeing vendor management operations within a leading banking organization. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in vendor and risk management, contract negotiation, and stakeholder engagement, supporting business-as-usual operations and ensuring compliance across multiple vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate all phases of the Third-Party Risk Management Lifecycle, ensuring adherence to policies, standards, and frameworks.
- Oversee the timely completion of Inherent Risk Assessments for new and existing third-party relationships, securing review and approval from relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor vendor performance and risk using reports, dashboards, and governance routines to ensure ongoing compliance and value delivery.
- Manage vendor issues proactively, including escalation, tracking, and partnering with the business to develop remediation plans.
- Drive contract renewal processes, negotiations, and related documentation, collaborating with internal legal, sourcing, and contract teams to optimize value and mitigate risks.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of contractual terms, conditions, and their commercial implications, managing vendor agreements effectively.
- Develop and assess SLAs, policies, and compliance plans aimed at maximizing customer satisfaction, minimizing risk, and enhancing operational effectiveness.
- Review audit documentation such as CSAE 3416, SOC reports, and coordinate remediation efforts for identified gaps.
- Oversee organized storage of all audit evidence and support invoice processing, including billing, rebates, penalties, and internal chargebacks.
- Monitor vendor spend actively to identify cost-saving opportunities and trend analysis against budgets.
- Maintain proficiency with vendor management tools including Enterprise Spend Portal (ESP), Enterprise Contract Management (ECM), and Hiperos.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements and regulatory standards.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across business, sourcing, legal, and contract teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development to team members, fostering a high-performance environment and managing change initiatives effectively.
Desired Skill-Set
- Extensive vendor management experience, particularly within the banking or financial services industry (minimum 5 years).
- Strong understanding of contractual language, legal terms, and commercial impacts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple vendor relationships simultaneously in a highly regulated environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in documentation, audit readiness, and evidence management.
- Solid project management and organizational skills, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams with a control environment mindset.
- Familiarity with a financial institution's sourcing processes and organizational structure is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Background in banking or financial industry operations.
- Experience with procurement systems like Ariba, Coupa, or Archer.
