Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Accessibility Manager. In this position, you will serve as a key subject matter expert, leading the development and implementation of accessibility standards and best practices across marketing materials. Your expertise will ensure the company's compliance with legislative and industry standards while promoting inclusive communication through innovative content strategies.
Pay rate range (CAD): $39.58 – $55.56
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of accessibility guidelines, job aids, and QA processes for marketing teams
- Conduct regular audits of marketing content to ensure WCAG 2.1/2.2, AODA, and ACA compliance
- Translate complex accessibility standards into practical, easy-to-understand instructions and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed accessibility considerations into all marketing deliverables
- Maintain and evolve brand standards, templates, and visual identity systems with an inclusive focus
- Stay current on evolving legislation and accessibility best practices, updating standards proactively
- Deliver training and enablement sessions to internal teams and external agency partners
- Structure and maintain centralized repositories for accessibility guidelines and resources
- Partner with UX, legal, digital, and branding teams to align accessibility requirements and governance
- Evaluate marketing assets such as PDFs, videos, social media content, emails, and websites for accessibility compliance
- Provide remediation recommendations to improve existing content and workflows
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to foster an inclusive design culture and build internal accessibility expertise
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, digital content, or creative services
- 5+ years of technical writing experience
- 3+ years working specifically in accessibility and inclusive design
- Deep understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards and their application to digital marketing assets
- Strong knowledge of accessibility legislation including ACA, AODA, and relevant provincial/federal standards
- Proven ability to implement accessibility measures within creative and content workflows
- Experience using accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, contrast analyzers)
- Effective communicator capable of simplifying complex standards for non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience in conducting accessibility audits and recommending remediation strategies
- Knowledge of brand systems and how to align accessibility with visual and verbal identity standards
Nice to Have
- Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, Trusted Tester)
- Experience working with content management systems and digital asset repositories
- Familiarity with inclusive design principles and human-centered design methodology
