Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Internal Auditor specializing in ICFR/SOX and banking controls. This position offers a dynamic environment where your auditing expertise will drive critical compliance and control testing activities, providing valuable exposure and network-building opportunities within a professional team.
Pay rate range (CAD): $50.28/hr – $60.33/hr
Responsibilities
- Execute testing of inventory and other key controls, ensuring design and operational effectiveness through walkthroughs with business partners
- Prepare and send requests for information to relevant stakeholders
- Conduct control testing related to ICFR/SOX compliance, including design and operating effectiveness assessments
- Participate in internal status meetings, discussions with clients and business units, and coordinate with external audit partners
- Manage deliverables on a weekly basis, completing 2 to 3 control tests each week
- Maintain organized documentation of testing processes and findings
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to facilitate smooth testing operations
Desired Skill-Set
- 3 to 5 years of experience in internal or external auditing
- Proven testing experience, including governance control testing and ICFR/SOX compliance
- Strong communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships and present findings clearly
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Experience with inventory control testing and walkthroughs
Nice to Have
- Big 4 consulting or auditing experience
- Certifications such as CIA or CPA (preferred but not required)
- Public accounting background
- Experience working within banking environments or financial services
