Senior Power BI Consultant – Capital Markets

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Power BI Consultant. This position involves leading the development and modernization of enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports within a sophisticated capital markets environment, supporting large-scale data integration, cloud migration initiatives, and stakeholder engagement across technical and business teams.
Pay rate range (CAD): $78.50/hr – $113.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize enterprise Power BI dashboards and reports to support capital markets and corporate banking workflows
- Build advanced DAX calculations, KPIs, and scalable data models for large datasets and complex enterprise requirements
- Support migration of existing reporting workflows from Excel into centralized Power BI environments
- Integrate Power BI solutions with Databricks, Unity Catalog, SQL Server, Azure Cloud, and enterprise data lakes
- Support the creation and maintenance of data gateways and reporting infrastructure to ensure seamless data flow and security
- Contribute to data mart integration and reporting pipeline stabilization within Azure Databricks modernization initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical and business requirements for scalable reporting solutions
- Enhance governance, usability, and scalability of enterprise reporting environments
- Document dashboards, data models, and reporting logic to facilitate ongoing management and compliance
- Support cloud-based modernization efforts, ensuring integration efficiencies and architecture best practices
Desired Skill-Set
- Proven experience developing enterprise Power BI dashboards and reports tied to large, complex datasets
- Advanced practical DAX skills, including complex calculations, optimization, and data modeling
- Strong understanding of Power BI integration with Databricks, Unity Catalog, and enterprise cloud environments
- Experience working with SQL Server and Azure Cloud-based data ecosystems
- Familiarity with building or supporting data gateways, data pipeline modernization, and enterprise data lakes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to operate independently within evolving technical environments and multiple concurrent initiatives
Nice to Have
- Exposure to capital markets, portfolio management, or corporate banking reporting environments
- Experience migrating Excel-driven reporting workflows into Power BI ecosystems
- Familiarity with .NET-integrated front-end applications
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and reporting pipeline modernization projects
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise cloud transformation or reporting modernization programs
