Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Business Analyst – Data Analytics/Governance. This position involves leading data management initiatives, supporting compliance, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance data practices across enterprise operations. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in governance, project management, and data analytics to support regulatory compliance and data integrity efforts.

Pay rate range (CAD): $64.33/hr – $77.20/hr

Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage a small team of analysts focused on data governance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address data retention and disposition gaps.
  • Ensure data practices comply with enterprise standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on team progress and project status.
  • Monitor and escalate project, data risks, and issues as needed.
  • Support management in capacity planning and assessments of ongoing work.
  • Perform data analysis, documenting data retention and disposition requirements.
  • Assist in developing and updating data management and data retention procedures.
  • Support the identification, inventorying, and cataloguing of data assets.
  • Execute data retention and disposition activities manually and evidence compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with peers and stakeholders to facilitate deliverables.

Desired Skill-Set 

  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
  • Experience managing projects, including timeline and risk assessment.
  • Data analytics proficiency with Excel, including manual reporting steps.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage teams and stakeholders.

Nice to Have 

  • Experience leading teams or projects within a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of banking operations and financial regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with data controls, compliance, and regulatory data rules.
  • Proficiency in tools such as PowerPoint, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA, and data storage hierarchies.
