Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior API Developer. This position involves developing and supporting RESTful APIs within a high-profile insurance technology initiative, focusing on seamless integrations with platforms like Earnix and Guidewire. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who thrives in an autonomous role, contributing immediately to delivery efforts in a dynamic environment.
Pay rate range (CAD): $75.00/hr – $85.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot.
- Support integration between Earnix, Guidewire, and other enterprise applications.
- Develop scalable API services hosted within AWS cloud environments.
- Support Kafka-based integrations and implement event-driven architectures.
- Enhance existing API services and platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with development teams during Agile sprint cycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues efficiently.
- Operate autonomously as the primary API development resource for the project.
Desired Skill-Set
- 7+ years of software development experience, with recent hands-on API development.
- Extensive experience building and supporting REST APIs.
- Advanced Java development skills with expertise in Spring Boot.
- Proven experience with enterprise integration solutions.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud environments.
- Experience supporting Kafka-based and event-driven integrations.
- Familiarity with SOAP services is a plus.
- Background in insurance or financial services sectors is desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience operating within Agile teams.
Nice to Have
- Guidewire integration experience.
- Expertise in event-driven architecture.
- Knowledge of enterprise API platform engineering.
- Prior involvement in insurance technology ecosystems.
- Experience with hybrid or cloud-native application development.
