Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Business Systems Analyst. This position involves supporting and enhancing trading and order management systems across multiple asset classes, blending technical knowledge, data analytics, and stakeholder engagement to ensure operational efficiency and data integrity. The role offers opportunities to work on impactful projects that influence system improvements and workflows in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
Pay rate range (CAD): $47.10/hr – $56.52/hr
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize trading and order management systems, including platforms such as ThinkFolio, Bloomberg AIM/PORT, and related tools.
- Serve as a primary contact for system inquiries, troubleshooting, and user support across front, middle, and back office teams.
- Translate business requirements into system enhancements, workflows, and data specifications.
- Perform data extraction, validation, and cleansing to ensure accurate and reliable trading and operational data.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Automate processes and improve data workflows using SQL, Python, Excel, or similar technologies.
- Monitor data flows, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with technology and operations teams for resolution.
- Support system upgrades, testing, implementation, and post-launch validation.
- Document system configurations, workflows, and data definitions to promote transparency and compliance.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to align systems with evolving business and industry standards.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives leveraging data insights to increase efficiency and control.
Desired Skill-Set
- 3-5+ years of experience in data analytics, financial systems, or business analysis.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and Excel.
- Proven ability to perform data extraction, cleansing, and transformation (ETL).
- Experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of data validation, quality control, and governance practices.
- Ability to interpret business needs into technical and data requirements.
- Experience working with financial data, portfolios, or trading environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or trading platforms.
- Exposure to predictive modeling, advanced analytics, or machine learning.
- Knowledge of automation tools such as VBA, scripting, or APIs.
- Familiarity with asset management, portfolio analytics, or capital markets.
- Experience working in Agile or Jira environments.
