Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Banking Data Analyst – Python/SQL/Power Automate. This position involves supporting day-to-day data operations within a Procurement Analytics team, managing automated workflows, and collaborating across functions to enhance data management and reporting practices.
Pay rate range (CAD): $50.20/hr – $60.23/hr
Responsibilities
- Execute routine data workflows, including running Python scripts and updating Excel-based processes to curate datasets.
- Monitor and respond to requests in a shared team inbox, managing dashboards, data refreshes, and ad-hoc data pulls.
- Perform data validation, quality checks, and troubleshoot issues to ensure data integrity.
- Support documentation efforts by maintaining process manuals, SOPs, and training materials.
- Collaborate with the data governance team to promote and implement data management best practices.
- Track and manage task completion within set schedules and priorities.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Provide operational support as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Desired Skill-Set
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data and reporting analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in technology, computing, data & analytics, business, or engineering.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven expertise in SQL and Python (Pandas), including modifying and maintaining existing queries and scripts.
- Experience using Git for code version control and collaboration.
- Proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and operational workflows.
- High attention to detail when working with large datasets.
- Ability to troubleshoot data issues and identify root causes.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple requests and priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging technical and business stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn and support broader data analytics and governance functions.
- Ability to follow structured processes with a focus on incremental improvements.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 low-code platforms such as Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint forms, and lists.
