Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Business Analyst Market Risk. This position involves supporting the Capital Markets Business and Treasury Risk Management Office by handling a variety of BAU requests and small-to-medium projects related to Market Risk processes, systems, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a vital role as a bridge between business stakeholders, risk teams, and technology partners, managing multiple initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a broad spectrum of ad hoc Market Risk requests and small projects, from initial investigation through to implementation and stakeholder review.
- Identify and resolve system issues, process inefficiencies, and system enhancement requests.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring clarity and stakeholder sign-off.
- Collaborate with technology teams to translate business needs into system solutions and validate their effectiveness.
- Support testing activities, including UAT coordination and review, ensuring system outputs meet business expectations.
- Assist in regulatory and compliance initiatives, translating regulatory requirements into system and process changes.
- Work with large datasets using SQL to investigate anomalies and validate risk data, supporting informed decision-making.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with business users and technical teams, leading meetings, documenting decisions, and managing project timelines.
- Facilitate a smooth project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring all stakeholder needs are addressed.
Desired Skill-Set
- Proven market risk or capital markets risk experience as a Business Analyst.
- Strong understanding of Market Risk concepts, processes, and systems.
- Experience working with complex risk systems and regulatory requirements such as Basel III.
- Intermediate SQL skills, capable of independently writing queries for data investigation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently, adapting to changing priorities and project stages.
- Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.
- Self-directed with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to other risk disciplines such as Credit or Liquidity.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python.
- Knowledge of additional regulatory frameworks beyond Basel III.
- Prior experience in environments with multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Familiarity with risk systems and architecture beyond the core tasks.
