Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Legal Project Manager – Change Management who will support a high-profile initiative within the External Legal Counsel program, focusing on a program and panel refresh. This role requires a skilled Project Manager with experience driving complex initiatives, managing change, and engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and external partners. The successful candidate will bring strong project management expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while ensuring delivery of business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals.
  • Act as the key connector between business, legal, procurement, and external counsel, facilitating communication and decision-making.
  • Drive change management activities, socialize change plans, and measure adoption and effectiveness across stakeholder groups.
  • Support and guide senior leaders and stakeholders with insights, recommendations, and strategic advice.
  • Oversee all aspects of project lifecycle management, including budgets, timelines, governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Manage large project teams (up to 50 members) including internal staff, consultants, and external vendors.
  • Negotiate with vendors in collaboration with sourcing teams to secure necessary resources and services.
  • Provide strategic input into decision-making, identifying emerging issues, trends, and risks, and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on project metrics, deliverables, and performance dashboards.
  • Build trust and credibility with executives, legal teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  • Represent the project in governance forums, stakeholder meetings, and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing project culture aligned with the client’s values and purpose.

Desired Skill-Set

  • 6–8 years of hands-on project management experience, grounded in structured methodologies and execution.
  • Proven background working with client legal teams and external legal counsel.
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management and influencing senior leaders.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, sequencing activities, documenting actions, and driving outcomes.

Nice to Have

  • Change Management experience.
  • Banking and procurement industry experience.
  • Valid PMP designation from PMI.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, judgment, and learning agility.
  • Experience guiding others through complex change and ambiguity.
