Working with one of our top banking clients, this role calls for a Procurement Specialist/Banking who will lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, develop category strategies, and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, driving cost optimization, process efficiency, and strategic value across procurement operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business partners, primarily within People & Culture, providing strategic procurement leadership and advisory support.

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including competitive events (RFI/RFP), supplier selection, and contract negotiations.

  • Develop and execute category management frameworks and long-term sourcing plans aligned with enterprise goals.

  • Conduct market assessments to identify preferred suppliers, evaluate risks, and recommend sourcing solutions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive innovation and value creation.

  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to incorporate supplier risk assessments into agreements.

  • Apply disciplined procurement methodologies and ensure compliance with policies and controls.

  • Use data-driven insights and performance metrics to inform strategic recommendations and track progress.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance procurement processes and deliver measurable impact.

  • Stay current with leading procurement practices, trends, and sourcing methodologies.

Desired Skill Set:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract negotiations.

  • Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes, governance, and risk controls.

  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end sourcing and contract negotiation processes.

  • Strong business analysis and project delivery experience within large, complex organizations.

  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis to support decision-making.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills with a proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a problem-solving and solution-driven mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop strategic plans based on business analysis.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain, Finance) or equivalent experience.
