Senior Murex Consultant / Murex Architect – AWS Migration
Are you a seasoned Murex expert with deep hands-on architecture experience and a proven track record delivering large-scale cloud-hosted Murex transformations? This role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead one of the most complex modernization initiatives within Capital Markets—re-architecting, optimizing, and integrating a full Murex SaaS platform hosted in AWS.
Working with one of our top financial clients, this position calls for a Senior Murex Consultant / Murex Architect – AWS Migration who can combine high-level architectural strategy with deep technical execution. The ideal candidate will bring extensive Murex SME knowledge, AWS-hosted Murex experience, and the ability to lead integrations, governance, and production support across a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the Murex SaaS platform hosted in AWS.
- Architect cloud-native solutions ensuring resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Design strategies to support database migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL with minimal disruption.
- Define interaction patterns between Murex SaaS, AWS services, databases, and upstream/downstream applications.
Integration Leadership
- Lead enterprise-wide integration strategy across risk, trade flow, market data, and reporting systems.
- Oversee API, messaging, MQ/Kafka patterns, and data flow across the Capital Markets ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with Murex, cloud engineering, security, DB architecture, and FO/MO/BO teams.
Governance & Delivery
- Produce HLDs, LLDs, sequence diagrams, cloud topology maps, and architectural standards.
- Govern design decisions, validate performance, and ensure SDLC and cloud governance compliance.
- Participate in architecture review boards, risk assessments, and cross-functional design discussions.
Technical Leadership
- Provide deep SME support across Murex modules, workflows, FO/MO/BO processes, and APIs.
- Triage requirements, lead technical strategy, and mentor engineering and support teams.
- Drive environment provisioning, CI/CD strategy, testing frameworks, and scalability planning.
Production & Operations (?30%)
- Support L2/L3 production issues including booking failures, stuck workflows, long-running queries, and vendor escalations.
- Troubleshoot lifecycle events, debug sequence issues, and oversee MX test environments.
- Support CI/CD pipeline establishment and future environment growth.
Desired Skill Set:
Functional & Technical Must-Haves
- 10+ years’ senior Murex experience including SME or architect responsibilities.
- Mandatory: Proven experience hosting Murex in AWS (production-grade).
- Experience supporting migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
- Strong FO/MO/BO, trade lifecycle, reporting, and MX.3 module expertise.
- Deep understanding of integration patterns: REST/SOAP, MQ/Kafka, streaming, and batch.
- Experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure architecture, and complex migration projects.
- Ability to operate at both high-level architecture and detailed technical depth.
- Demonstrated experience building cost-optimized AWS architectures.
Nice to Have:
- Capital Markets experience within major financial institutions.
- Product knowledge across FX, Options, Cash, and Commodities.
- Experience with Murex SaaS and vendor coordination.
- Prior exposure to large-scale cloud modernization initiatives.
- Ability to mentor junior and intermediate team members.
