Business Data Analyst / Treasury / Big Data

Working with a leading financial institution, this role calls for a Business Data Analyst / Treasury / Big Data who will analyze, document, and validate business rules while collaborating with technology teams to ensure requirements are effectively translated into code. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Spark SQL, SQL performance tuning, and data analysis, while thriving in a fast-paced, Agile environment. This role is ideal for someone who can bridge business and technical teams, ensuring accurate implementation of requirements and driving optimization across treasury and big data projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, document, and validate business rules and requirements from business users.
- Write, test, and optimize Spark SQL statements to translate business requirements into programming code.
- Use Visual Studio (SQL Integration Services) to analyze SSIS packages.
- Review multiple system builds, update requirements documentation, and manage project scope, priorities, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with technology teams for implementation and provide guidance to QA testers.
- Assess business process and system inefficiencies, recommending improvements.
- Analyze and synthesize business requirements, recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups and planning sessions.
Desired Skill Set
- 8+ years of experience handling large-scale projects and operational business requests.
- 4+ years of data analysis experience.
- Strong familiarity with SQL optimization and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server).
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a distributed team environment.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in financial services, particularly in Capital Markets or Treasury.
- Exposure to Big Data and NoSQL databases (Hadoop, HBase, Spark) with Spark SQL experience.
