Hardware Asset Management Specialist / Analyst – CMDB / ServiceNow

Working with one of our top financial clients, this position calls for a Hardware Asset Management Specialist / Analyst – CMDB / ServiceNow who will manage hardware assets within the bank’s book of record, work through ticket queues, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of asset data. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of CMDB, hands-on ServiceNow experience, and a problem-solving mindset with a commitment to data ownership and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain IT hardware assets within the bank’s book of record.
- Work through ServiceNow tickets to resolve data quality issues and ensure asset information accuracy.
- Support hardware lifecycle processes and maintain alignment with CMDB standards.
- Document processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance data governance.
- Perform data analysis using Excel, Access, or SQL-based tools to support asset management activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and proper asset tracking.
Desired Skill Set:
- 1–2 years of proven experience in technology hardware asset management.
- Strong knowledge of CMDB concepts and structure (mandatory).
- Hands-on experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM/ticketing platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with ownership of data accuracy and process integrity.
- Ability to document processes, identify gaps, and support process improvements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or similar SQL tools for data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Power Automate is an asset.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of discovery tools such as SCCM or ServiceNow Discovery.
- HAM Pro Certification or IAITAM Certification.
- Previous experience working in a banking environment.
