Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Java/AWS Developer-Banking. This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services and modern frameworks. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend development, full-stack technologies, and a strong understanding of cloud architectures to deliver high-quality solutions within a collaborative team environment.
Pay rate range (CAD): $66.41/hr – $79.70/hr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Build backend services using Java, focusing on scalable APIs (REST/GraphQL).
- Develop and deploy serverless components utilizing AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, Cognito, and CloudFront.
- Create responsive front-end interfaces with React and Angular, ensuring seamless integration with backend services.
- Write clean, well-tested, and documented code, incorporating unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Follow secure coding practices, implementing authentication, authorization, and secrets management aligned with AWS and OWASP standards.
- Ensure optimal application security, scalability, and performance within a cloud environment.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions on time and within scope.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes using AWS tools and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues promptly, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Participate in agile development cycles, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Skill-Set
- 8+ years of professional development experience with Java.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, CDK.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS).
- Experience in REST API integration.
- Strong understanding of frontend testing, debugging, and browser performance optimization.
- Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git, and collaborative workflows.
- Experience with AWS deployment tools like CodePipeline.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in an agile setting.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of security best practices within AWS environments.
- Experience with AI tools for coding and automation.
- Background in banking or financial services technologies.
- Relevant certifications in AWS or Java development.
- Ability to interpret user requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
