Working with one of the top financial clients, this role calls for an L3 Applications Support – Banking professional to act as the bridge between Infrastructure (L2) and Development (L4) teams. The role is focused on providing end-to-end production support for a suite of Java/J2EE applications while ensuring business continuity, incident resolution, and customer experience excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide L3 production support for ~18+ Java/J2EE applications (WebSphere/JBoss) with ongoing migrations to Azure, VMC2, and OpenStack.
  • Conduct daily health checks and monitor APIs, batch jobs, and system logs.
  • Use tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Datadog for proactive monitoring and issue detection.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to databases, MQ, connectivity, and application components.
  • Perform log analysis and validate batch jobs to ensure accuracy and performance.
  • Lead incident management: analyze production issues, drive root cause analysis (RCA), and coordinate with L2 and L4 teams.
  • Ensure customer experience KPIs, including TLEI thresholds, are consistently met.
  • Document resolutions, update knowledge base articles, and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotation (includes flat fee + on-call payment).

Desired Skill Set:

  • Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE applications running on WebSphere and JBoss.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure, VMC2, and OpenStack environments.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Datadog.
  • Strong troubleshooting expertise with databases, MQ, APIs, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in banking/financial services application support.
  • Exposure to large-scale migration projects to cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting for automation of monitoring and support tasks.
