Lead Android Developer

Working with a leading organization, this position calls for a Lead Android Developer who will contribute 50% hands-on coding and 50% leadership, ensuring successful delivery, mentoring junior developers, upholding coding standards, and helping the team execute with precision and quality. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with a deep sense of ownership and the ability to translate high-level designs into detailed technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Android development efforts while contributing hands-on code (approx. 50% development).
- Guide and mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and support their technical growth.
- Convert high-level design concepts into detailed low-level technical designs and implementation plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
- Champion coding standards, best practices, and high-quality development.
- Take ownership of delivery, proactively identifying issues, resolving blockers, and “making things happen.”
- Foster teamwork, clear communication, and a positive engineering culture.
Desired Skill Set:
- Kotlin – strong proficiency.
- Jetpack Compose.
- Android SDK.
- Java & Web Services.
- XML.
- Subversion & Git for version control.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
