MainFrame DevOps Engineer

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a MainFrame DevOps Engineer. This position involves designing and implementing end-to-end deployment workflows for mainframe systems, integrating security and compliance checks, and proactively monitoring system performance to ensure seamless operations within a critical modernization initiative.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines for mainframe environments.
- Embed security and compliance checks into build and deployment processes.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and incident management proactively.
- Collaborate with code librarians and cross-functional teams to optimize deployment workflows.
- Document processes and workflows for ongoing support and audit compliance.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe architecture (z/OS and USS).
- Strong knowledge of DevOps deployment on z/OS, including code packaging and product management.
- Experience with DevOps deploy integrations within mainframe SDLC, deploying versions to SIT, UAT, and production.
- UNIX proficiency, including scripting in JavaScript.
- Ability to document workflows accurately for support and compliance purposes.
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of experience setting up partial deploy and rollback workflows.
- Experience configuring DevOps deploy in cluster (active-passive) setups for application and database components.
- Z/OS experience, especially coding in REXX/JCL.
- Familiarity with z/OS development and operations environments such as TSO/E, ISPF, SDSF, and z/OSMF.
- Background in DevOps engineering and SRE practices.
