Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Market Risk Analyst (Systems & Data Focus). This position offers an exciting opportunity to support system enhancements, data analysis, and risk management projects within a dynamic capital markets environment.
Pay rate range (CAD): $63.00/hr – $68.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and enhancement of market risk measurement systems, including regulatory capital calculations such as CVA and risk reporting frameworks
- Query and analyze large datasets using SQL; investigate discrepancies and support reconciliation and validation processes
- Execute testing for new products, system enhancements, and risk calculation models
- Gather and document business requirements within market risk workflows; support solution design and implementation
- Collaborate with risk, technology, and front office teams to support project delivery and system improvements
- Contribute to BAU activities, system upgrades, and modernization initiatives involving stress testing, automation, AI, and data infrastructure evolution
Desired Skill-Set
- Strong technical aptitude with a STEM background preferred
- Hands-on experience with SQL (query writing required)
- Exposure to Python or similar programming languages
- Comfortable working with large datasets
- Some exposure to market risk concepts and capital markets products
- Analytical mindset capable of investigating issues, interpreting data, and supporting problem-solving
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and clearly explain findings
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in market risk environments, particularly within capital markets
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with risk systems and reporting tools
- Experience with modern data and infrastructure tools such as Databricks, automation, or AI technologies
- Ability to operate in unstructured, project-based settings with adaptability and proactive problem-solving
