Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Release Train Strategist – SAFe/Agilist to facilitate release processes, manage risks and impediments, and coach leaders and teams to deliver measurable value in an Agile-at-scale environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through releases using Agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban)
- Facilitate PI readiness by coaching teams and supporting roadmap, feature, and release planning
- Coordinate and support key release ceremonies, including system demos and pre-/post-PI planning
- Coordinate the successful delivery of release features by managing dependencies, sequencing, and architecture considerations
- Summarize and publish Team PI Objectives to ensure alignment to organizational vision, BAGs, and OKRs
- Track release metrics and produce dashboards to monitor delivery health and outcomes
- Facilitate synchronization meetings (e.g., release sync) to keep delivery aligned to business outcomes
- Escalate and track impediments arising within release scope
- Manage risks and dependencies across teams and stakeholders
- Provide input on required resourcing to support release delivery
- Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters to enable high performance and collaboration
- Partner with business owners, product managers, and product owners to support roadmap and execution alignment
- Drive continuous improvement in DevOps and “Release on Demand” practices
- Support Lean-Agile continuous delivery mindset and servant leadership behaviors across the release process
Desired Skill-Set
- 3+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer/Release Train Strategist
- Post-secondary education (university preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Agile management tools (Confluence, SharePoint, and Jira)
- Experience within a banking or financial institution environment
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across teams
- Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills
- Self-motivated, well organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
Nice to Have
- RTE Safe Agilist certificate and/or Scrum Master certification
- PMP certification (asset)
- Prior experience in Asset Management and Wealth
- Experience working within banking organizations.
