Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Analytics Engineer–Databricks & Power BI. This position involves designing and developing Power BI reports and dashboards, working closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, and supporting data integration and modelling efforts within a data-rich environment. The role offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in Power BI, Databricks, and data visualisation to support wealth management and client reporting projects.
Pay rate range (CAD): $70.00/hr – $75.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for various business functions
- Build data models, DAX calculations, and establish connections with Databricks and other data sources
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Manage data connectivity, refresh processes, and ensure data security via RLS (Row Level Security)
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, data, or reporting issues
- Support advanced Power BI features, including security, data modelling, and performance optimisation
- Demonstrate expertise in data relationships, SQL, and Delta tables / Golden Layer data
- Assist in automating data workflows using tools like Azure Data Factory or Azure Pipelines (Nice to Have)
- Share knowledge on data security practices and Power BI best practices
Desired Skill-Set
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and DAX
- Proven expertise with Databricks, Delta tables, and data modelling
- Proficiency in SQL and understanding of data relationships
- Familiarity with Power BI security features including RLS
- Experience with data connectivity, refresh, and troubleshooting Power BI reports
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience in Capital Markets, Wealth Management, or Asset Management
- Knowledge of Azure services such as Data Factory, Azure Pipelines, and Azure Storage
- Power BI Gateway setup and management
- Databricks dashboarding experience
