Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior BSA – Equities – EMS/Trade Surveillance. This position involves supporting data-driven and backend initiatives within the Capital Markets Equities team, working across multiple projects to deliver comprehensive data solutions and insights. The role is a replacement position suited for candidates with a strong technical background and deep knowledge of equities markets, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical projects in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Define, document, and analyze data sets and data flows pertinent to trading and backend systems
- Gather and validate business requirements from traders and senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with data and architecture teams to translate business needs into technical data solutions
- Develop clear, detailed documentation to support analytics and reporting functions
- Act as a business-facing BA with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and usability
- Assist in optimizing data architecture and modeling to support trading activities and reporting
- Support data analysis, mapping, and validation efforts to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to facilitate effective communication and project success
Desired Skill-Set
- 5–10+ years of business systems analysis experience, with at least 2+ years in Equities or Capital Markets
- Strong technical skills as a data-focused Business Analyst
- Extensive experience working with SQL, including query writing and data analysis
- Deep understanding of data concepts, definitions, mapping, and architecture principles
- Intermediate to expert-level knowledge of Equities markets
- Ability to ask the right questions and work collaboratively with data, architecture, and trading teams
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Databricks, Oracle, and relational databases
- Excellent communication skills capable of clearly articulating technical concepts
- Experience working directly with traders or front-office teams
- Familiarity with FIX protocol and trading data standards
