Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Solutions Developer – Automation & Internal Tools (JavaScript, VBA, SQL Server) supporting the development of code for UCs and tools used by an operations team to automate processes.
Pay Rate: Pay rate range (CAD): $55.81/hr – $66.97/hr
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance solutions used by operations teams to automate business processes
- Write and support front-end functionality using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Build and maintain backend logic using VBA
- Optimize SQL Server queries and stored procedures to improve performance and reliability
- Create and update MS Access and MS Excel solutions, including macros
- Implement and support API methods used by internal tools and workflows
- Participate in Agile development activities and delivery planning
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to clarify requirements and confirm outcomes
- Present and demo solution functionality clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to deliverables and meet SLAs as measured through performance expectations
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of code development experience and SDLC experience
- Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong backend skills: VBA
- Solid database skills: SQL Server, optimizing queries, and working with stored procedures
- Proficiency with MS Access and MS Excel, including macros
- Experience with API methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong demo/presentation skills to describe and showcase end-product functionality

- Banking or financial institution experience
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Lean Six Sigma certification (asset)
