Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Android Developer – Kotlin / Jetpack / Banking. As a key member of the mobile development team, you will design, develop, and deliver native Android solutions for innovative mobile banking platforms, primarily utilizing Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to long-term projects within a collaborative environment, supporting user experience excellence and robust application performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, acting as a principal contact for project teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Collaborate closely with architects, business analysts, and solution designers to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Develop and review detailed technical designs, ensuring alignment with overall architecture standards.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain high coding standards, reusability, and security compliance.
- Ensure timely delivery of solutions, meeting project milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
- Estimate effort and provide input for project planning and resource allocation.
- Support the resolution of escalated incidents and outages with minimal impact on users.
- Maintain current knowledge of Android technologies and industry trends to continuously improve solutions and development processes.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment focused on quality, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Manage multiple concurrent tasks effectively, prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
Desired Skill-Set
- 7+ years of mobile development experience, with at least 5+ years of hands-on Kotlin experience on Android.
- Proven expertise with Jetpack Compose libraries and modern Android development tools such as Android Studio, Gradle, and Emulators.
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns including MVC, MVP, and MVVM.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks like JUnit, Robolectric, and Espresso.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Well-organized, self-motivated, and a strong team player with proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with analytics tools such as Dynatrace, SonarQube, and Crashlytics.
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience within technical teams.
- Experience working with distributed teams across onshore and offshore locations.
- Background in financial services or banking industry is an asset.
