Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Business Systems Analyst – Mainframe / Real Time Rails / Payments. This position involves analyzing, designing, and delivering critical banking systems related to real-time transaction processing, payment reconciliation, and settlement activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering mindset, extensive Mainframe navigation experience, and proven success within Agile frameworks to support digital initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications utilizing Behavior-Driven Development methodologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define solution options, assess impact, and facilitate integration within existing ecosystems.
- Navigate Mainframe screens effectively to inquire on and maintain transaction data, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
- Support systems testing activities by translating requirements into test conditions and expected results across product, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Manage traceability of system requirements from design through deployment, ensuring acceptance criteria are met.
- Contribute to requirements management, change management activities, and operational readiness planning.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Architects, Software Engineers, and Quality Engineers, to ensure high-quality delivery of system features.
- Promote continuous improvement by suggesting innovative solutions and process enhancements aligned with strategic objectives.
- Provide operational and process analysis support to optimize system performance and stability.
Desired Skill-Set
- 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or Quality Engineer in banking or financial services.
- Extensive hands-on experience navigating and maintaining Mainframe environments.
- Strong proficiency within the Scaled Agile framework.
- Solid understanding of Behavior-Driven Development for writing effective user stories.
- Expertise using Jira and Confluence for requirements and project management.
- Demonstrated strong testing and gap analysis capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical and analytical approach.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Nice to Have
- Real Time Rails or Payment experience.
- API development and testing experience with Postman.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot or Github Copilot familiarity.
- Previous experience working within banking or financial institutions.
