Sr. Financial Analyst-IFRS/CPA

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Financial Analyst-IFRS/CPA to help ensure the integrity of financial and management information used for reporting and business analysis, supporting continuous month-end reconciliation and analysis activities.
Pay Rate (CAD): $57.97/hr – $69.57/hr
Responsibilities
- Ensure integrity of financial reporting and management information
- Investigate and resolve report discrepancies and data integrity issues
- Oversee month-end reconciliation activities and support accurate ledger close
- Prepare and support journal entries and related month-end activities
- Perform financial analysis to support business reporting and variance understanding
- Maintain effective Finance-owned SOX controls, including suspense account monitoring
- Communicate variances, issues, and risks clearly to minimize surprises during GL close
- Support ad-hoc requirements and continuous improvement initiatives for owned processes
- Contribute to operational readiness activities, including deadline management and change impact analysis
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with financial service institutions
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and advanced data management capabilities
- Experience investigating accounting issues and end-to-end processes
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with large volumes of data
- Month-end closing experience, including journal entries and reconciliation support
- Loan fee experience
- Ability to apply effective problem solving to identify gaps and recommend improvements
- Strong communication skills to present detailed financial information to stakeholders
- Working knowledge of financial and management accounting practices
- Knowledge of SOX controls and risk awareness for finance reporting activities
- Experience with continuous month-end reporting cycles and timely completion expectations
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI tools to enhance analysis and productivity
- Experience or understanding of lending products, including terms, conditions, interest, and fees
- Experience with general ledger applications such as SAP or Oracle
- CPA (or equivalent) or active progress toward a comparable accreditation
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
- ACBS knowledge
