Working with one of the top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Guidewire Developer who will work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to build mobile-first features that integrate downstream from Guidewire PolicyCenter/ClaimCenter/BillingCenter into Sonnet’s customer-facing applications. This candidate will be at the intersection of enterprise-grade insurance platforms and modern digital products, ensuring that core Guidewire services are extended, exposed, and optimized for mobile use.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) configurations and integrations that support downstream mobile applications.
- Collaborate with mobile developers and architects to expose Guidewire capabilities through APIs and services.
- Ensure data consistency, reliability, and performance across Guidewire and Sonnet digital channels.
- Partner with business analysts and product owners to translate insurance workflows into customer-facing digital features.
- Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to junior developers, and enforce coding and design best practices.
- Support testing, release, and production activities for Guidewire-integrated mobile features.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack, from Guidewire configuration to mobile consumption.
Desired Skill Set:
- 7+ years of hands-on Guidewire development experience (Gosu, Java, Guidewire Studio).
- Strong understanding of PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and/or ClaimCenter.
- Experience building APIs and integration services (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
- Background in downstream integration with digital/mobile platforms (experience with Sonnet or other digital insurance platforms an asset).
- Solid understanding of P&C insurance processes and data models.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional agile teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Nice To Have:
- Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of modern mobile ecosystems (iOS/Android) and how backend services enable them.
- Exposure to DevOps tooling (CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins).
