Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Power BI Developer-Banking. This position involves overseeing complex data and reporting initiatives within a dynamic banking environment, leveraging expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and stakeholder engagement to deliver trusted analytics and support regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Capital Measurement and Risk Reporting analytics projects.
- Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for capital, risk, and finance metrics.
- Translate complex data into clear visualizations that support storytelling and executive decision-making.
- Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Data Engineering, and Regulatory teams to gather requirements and ensure data quality.
- Build and maintain scalable Power BI semantic models, applying advanced data modeling techniques.
- Develop DAX measures and Power Query (M code) for accurate calculations and data transformations.
- Support ETL processes by working with upstream data teams to ensure accurate data feeds and reconciliation.
- Manage Power BI Service environments, including security, data refresh schedules, and workspace organization.
- Implement data governance, security, and compliance controls within Power BI projects.
- Use Power Automate to automate report workflows and improve data validation processes.
- Partner with stakeholders to validate outputs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in Power BI development and modernization efforts.
- Participate in design reviews, modernization strategies, and cross-functional working groups.
Desired Skill-Set
- Extensive experience with Power BI Desktop & Service (expert level).
- Proficiency in advanced DAX, Power Query / M code, and SQL.
- Strong background in enterprise data modeling (Fact/Dimension).
- Experience supporting Capital, Risk, and Financial Reporting initiatives.
- Knowledge of ETL concepts, data reconciliation, and data lineage.
- Ability to explain complex data insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members.
- Highly adaptable with a learner’s mindset, open to continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power Platform components like Power Automate.
- Knowledge of Python scripting.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git or Azure DevOps.
- Background in Regulatory or Capital Measurement reporting.
- Skills in process mapping and operating model documentation.
