Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Risk Advisor/Internal Audit/Controls Testing. This position involves supporting regulatory compliance, control testing, and risk management initiatives within a high-stakes environment, offering a unique chance to contribute to major control enhancement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a control advisor supporting various risk lines of business in identifying, documenting, and improving controls related to regulatory risks.
  • Conduct control testing and internal audits to evaluate risk mitigation effectiveness and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams throughout control testing processes, ensuring timely information exchange.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of external testing results and facilitate issue resolution.
  • Track project timelines, manage deliverables, and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document control processes, risk assessments, and audit findings.
  • Develop recommendations for process improvements and control enhancements based on analysis and testing outcomes.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on existing controls and practices.
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of control frameworks and risk policies.
  • Conduct control testing for business-as-usual operations, ensuring ongoing risk mitigation effectiveness.
  • Work closely with internal business partners to address issues, suggest improvements, and support control environment stability.

Desired Skill-Set

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in risk management, internal audit, or regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and internal controls.
  • Experience in control advisory or testing within financial services or similar regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance frameworks and related documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational, legal, market, credit, strategic, and liquidity risks to support informed decision-making.
  • Experience with control testing methodologies and audit processes.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CFA, or equivalent are preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Additional certifications like CPA or CIA.
  • Experience working directly with regulatory bodies or in highly regulated financial environments.
  • Familiarity with control testing tools and frameworks.
  • Previous involvement in regulatory governance initiatives or audits.
