AML Analyst

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an AML Analyst. In this position, you will assist in ensuring that high-risk business banking customers meet and maintain compliance standards through thorough KYC and EDD assessments. You’ll analyze customer data, document findings, and support decision-making processes to help manage risk effectively.
Pay rate range (CAD): $17.60/hr – $32.61/hr
Responsibilities
- Manage AML KYC business requests including RFI, CDD, and EDD from the AML Financial Intelligence Unit
- Analyze complex KYC reviews across multiple product lines
- Document actions and findings to develop and maintain comprehensive account/case files
- Assess data and information to generate insights and recommendations
- Prepare reports, notifications, and recommendations following standard guidelines to mitigate risk
- Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues within established rules
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Support additional responsibilities as needed within the AML function
Desired Skill-Set
- 1-2+ years of AML KYC experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, clear and concise
- Comfortable working in a high-volume environment supporting 90-100 cases
- Education and/or business experience with specialized knowledge in AML
- Strong collaboration and team skills
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Influencing skills to effect decision-making
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
Nice to Have
- Prior banking experience, especially with BMO
- ACAMS certification or equivalent
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial crimes (FINTRAC)
- Postsecondary education
