Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Control Tester – CPA/CFA. This position involves supporting risk oversight functions within the organization, focusing on control testing, QA, and regulatory compliance management to ensure effective processes are in place across risk areas such as operational, market, credit, and reputational risk. The successful candidate will play a key role in compliance assurance, risk controls, and monitoring activities to help mitigate enterprise-wide risks.

Pay rate range (CAD): $56.52/hr – $67.83/hr

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) contact within the Governance and Controls team
  • Support RCM activities including Effectiveness Assessments, Independent Monitoring, and Control Environment Reporting
  • Collaborate with various Risk Lines of Business (LOBs) to advise on compliance controls and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and support projects related to control testing, deficiency remediation, audits, and examinations
  • Report control statuses, KRIs, and compliance metrics to senior management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovative compliance solutions
  • Assist with business continuity management and risk program support

Desired Skill-Set

  • 7-8 years of experience in control testing and QA
  • Extensive understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and requirements
  • Strong risk management and control expertise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports
  • Proven project management capabilities

Nice to Have

  • CFA, CPA, or CIA certification
  • MBA degree
  • Experience with the RCM framework and requirements
