Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Payroll Analyst – PCP. This position involves supporting payroll operations, ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulations, and collaborating across teams to deliver accurate payroll and tax-related services. 

Pay rate range (CAD): $17.60/hr – $26.88/hr

Responsibilities

  • Balance all year-end tax slips and complete government filings
  • Support expatriate and globally mobile employees' payroll needs
  • Participate in internal and external payroll audits
  • Provide customized payroll and year-end tax slip support for executive leaders
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes for the Board of Directors
  • Review, prepare, and reconcile POIs as needed
  • Correct taxes from the Retiree Demographic report and US Tax Data Query
  • Respond to employee inquiries via ServiceNow cases
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of Workday HR/Payroll data through testing and validation
  • Assist in preparing manual and amended tax slips
  • Support payroll accounting for year-end reporting
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage payroll adjustments and resolve discrepancies with business partners
  • Process quarterly Director Fees payroll, off-cycle payments, and EIB data loads
  • Handle bi-weekly cheque reversals and run Pier/Variance reports to correct data errors
  • Manage daily administrative functions for expatriate payroll and shadow payroll processing
  • Balance payroll tax slip data and ensure timely resolution of inquiries
  • Review CRA and Revenu Quebec PIER reports for accuracy
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Desired Skill-Set

  • Working knowledge of Workday reporting and HR/Payroll modules
  • Minimum 3 years of expatriate payroll experience
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Federal/Provincial and U.S. payroll regulations (CRA, Revenu Quebec, IRS)
  • Experience with report reconciliation principles
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver accurate work

Nice to Have

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Designation or working towards certification
  • Experience working within a large organization
  • Previous banking industry experience
