IT Scrum Master – Banking

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an IT Scrum Master – Banking who will guide delivery teams through effective Agile ceremonies, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and support successful execution of large initiatives across cross-functional pods.
Pay rate range (CAD): $75.00/hr – $80.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies, and retrospectives
- Support team delivery by applying Kanban methodologies alongside Scrum practices
- Collaborate closely with technology and business stakeholders to remove delivery blockers
- Partner hand-in-hand with the Project Manager and step in to manage responsibilities when needed (e.g., during absences or vacations)
- Ensure teams maintain a strong understanding of delivery expectations, including SDLC fundamentals
- Coach teams toward continuous improvement and high-quality outcomes
- Promote professionalism, collaboration, and respectful team dynamics
Desired Skill-Set
- 10+ years of overall experience
- Strong technical background with experience in application delivery
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- CSM certification and SAFe certification
- Strong knowledge of Kanban methodologies
- Proven experience facilitating backlog refinement sessions, sprint ceremonies, and retrospectives
- Solid understanding of project delivery and SDLC
- Ability to collaborate effectively and manage responsibilities alongside a Project Manager
Nice to Have
- Experience leading large cross-functional pods/teams
- Background as a developer who transitioned into technical project management and then Scrum Master work
- Experience delivering initiatives where technology delivery and development lifecycles are central
