Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Trade Settlement Analyst-Capital Market. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support settlement activities in a fast-paced environment, providing exposure to client's platforms, prime brokerage, securities lending, and more. The role involves ensuring timely reconciliation, trade matching, and settlement processes.

Pay rate range (CAD): $17.60/hr – $27.70/hr

Responsibilities

  • Support client's settlement operations, including data processing and input across various platforms
  • Perform daily reconciliations to identify financial discrepancies and ensure accuracy
  • Investigate and respond promptly to client and partner inquiries, escalating when necessary
  • Complete trade matching, reporting, and CDS Arrow procedures prior to T+1 deadlines
  • Reconcile suspense and clearing outages, ensuring timely resolution and communication
  • Prepare and review international trade settlement reports and liaise with clients as needed
  • Maintain documentation of processes and procedures on SharePoint; assist with updates and reviews
  • Monitor international market buy-in rules and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure settlement statistics are updated daily and manage group email inboxes efficiently
  • Match and affirm DTC trade confirms on T+1 to facilitate settlement
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and operational procedures
  • Engage in cross-training to develop broader understanding of team functions and support coverage during absences
  • Adhere to high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality in all work activities
  • Participate actively in team meetings, coaching, and performance management initiatives
  • Support efforts to improve operational processes and service quality

Desired Skill-Set

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel: VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, macros
  • Minimum 5 years of reconciliation experience
  • 5+ years of experience in banking or capital markets, especially in trade settlements (CDS/DTC)
  • Extensive knowledge of trade settlement operations, CDS/DTC systems, and international trade procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume work
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of capital markets products including foreign exchange, money markets, options, and swaps
  • Knowledge of global financial platforms (e.g., WSS, Global platforms) is an asset
  • Additional certifications such as CSC, CFA, or CGA preferred; coding knowledge advantageous

Nice-to-Have

  • Completion of CSC courses or CFA/CGA certifications
  • Experience with accounting coding systems
  • Knowledge of MM and FX products, including options, foreign exchange forwards, and swaps
