Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Trade Finance Analyst – SBLC/Guarantees. This position involves managing and processing a variety of SBLC and guarantee requests, ensuring compliance with trade finance standards and AML regulations, and providing exceptional client service within a dynamic team environment.

Pay rate range (CAD): $42.03/hr – $50.43/hr

Responsibilities

  • Draft, issue, advise, and amend different types of SBLCs and guarantees
  • Review client requests and provide comments or clarifications to clients or relationship managers
  • Process new transactions, amendments, and associated correspondence
  • Release transactions according to workload and team requirements
  • Deliver services efficiently to meet or exceed SLAs
  • Prioritize, manage, and monitor daily workflow, distributing requests among team members
  • Participate in monthly reporting and account reconciliation activities
  • Implement and maintain controls to minimize operational risk
  • Provide technical advice to clients and internal partners
  • Adhere to internal policies and regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure process accuracy and consistency throughout transactions
  • Identify operational risks and gaps, and document recommended solutions
  • Perform due diligence as per AML and trade finance policies
  • Execute ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Be available during Canadian statutory holidays on a rotational basis to support multi-province and international coverage
  • Maintain a minimum of 18 months commitment to the role

Desired Skill-Set

  • 3 to 5 years of trade finance experience, specifically with SBLCs, standby letters of credit, and bank guarantees
  • Strong AML knowledge and understanding of trade finance procedures (UCP 600, ISP 98, URDG 758)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French bilingual skills are an asset
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Trade finance certifications such as CSDG and/or CDCS preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience with TF360 platform
  • Additional language skills, especially Spanish
  • Knowledge of LCBA procedures and international trade compliance guidelines
  • Previous experience working at FI.
