Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a UX Design Systems SME-Banking. In this position, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and evolving native mobile components and patterns for iOS and Android platforms, supporting a key wealth management project. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design consistency, accessibility, and scalability while contributing to AI-ready design system initiatives.
Pay rate range (CAD): $76.70/hr – $92.04/hr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reusable native mobile components, patterns, and interaction models for iOS and Android.
- Define component specifications, visual standards, interaction behaviors, and accessibility requirements.
- Partner with designers, developers, and product teams to identify opportunities for standardization and reuse.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure components are feasible, scalable, and correctly implemented.
- Conduct design reviews and quality assurance to ensure adherence to standards and accessibility.
- Create and update clear documentation, guidelines, and Figma libraries to facilitate adoption.
- Support governance and contribution practices to maintain the design system's quality and consistency.
- Contribute to AI-ready assets by structuring documentation, naming conventions, and reusable patterns supporting AI workflows.
Desired Skill-Set
- 3-5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, specifically with native mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
- Expertise in designing detailed component behaviors, states, and edge cases.
- Proficiency in Figma with extensive experience in component libraries, design tokens, and scalable systems.
- Strong understanding of native iOS and Android design patterns, interaction models, and platform guidelines.
- Effective communication skills for explaining design rationale and documentation.
- Knowledge of WCAG standards and mobile accessibility best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to ensure designs are feasible and accurately executed.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale design systems across multiple teams.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools like Figma AI, Microsoft Copilot, etc.
- Experience with design tokens and design-to-development workflows.
- An interest or background in self-directed investing.
