Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Data Scientist (Banking/ Python/ AI) to support emerging AI-driven data intelligence initiatives within Capital Markets. This position involves leveraging large datasets within the Azure Databricks ecosystem to identify opportunities, develop AI use cases, and deliver actionable insights for business stakeholders.
Pay rate range (CAD): $70.00/hr – $80.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets within Azure Databricks to identify trends, insights, and business opportunities.
- Support the development of AI and GenAI use cases across Equity Markets.
- Use Python to prepare, clean, transform, and analyze data for AI applications.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand opportunities for process improvement through AI.
- Research, evaluate, and summarize information using AI-enabled solutions.
- Prepare datasets and workflows supporting large language models and AI models.
- Extract actionable insights from complex data and communicate findings effectively.
- Support experimentation with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, LangChain, or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineers and technology teams to leverage Azure Databricks as the enterprise data platform.
Desired Skill-Set
- 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
- Proven ability to extract insights from large datasets.
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or GenAI initiatives.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks preferred.
- Analytical mindset with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Physics, Business).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Generative AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot Studio or LangChain.
- Knowledge of other LLM/AI frameworks.
- Previous data scientist experience.
- Power BI proficiency.
- C# programming skills.
- Capital Markets or Equity Markets experience.
