Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Quality Engineering (QE) Tester – API & Data Validation (Banking). This position involves executing comprehensive API and data validation testing, ensuring system integrity and data accuracy across banking applications in a fast-paced Agile environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Pay rate range (CAD): $48.00/hr – $53.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Execute API testing (functional and integration) to validate system behavior and data flow
- Perform data validation using SQL, including extracting and verifying data from Databricks environments
- Validate batch processing systems, including file extracts and data consistency checks
- Review and analyze application and system logs (e.g., OCP logs) to identify defects and troubleshoot issues
- Execute both manual and automated test cases (scripts will be pre-developed)
- Develop and maintain test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within an Agile environment to ensure quality standards
- Track defects, verify fixes, and support overall QA lifecycle activities
Desired Skill-Set
- 4–7 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Testing within the banking industry
- Strong expertise in API testing, including REST services and integrations
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis
- Experience working with batch systems and file-based data processing
- Solid understanding of banking domain processes and workflows
- Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong experience with ETL processes
- Ability to execute test scripts and analyze outcomes independently
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with Databricks environments
- Familiarity with log analysis tools and OCP logs
- Basic knowledge of test automation frameworks
