Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Release Train Strategist. This position involves coordinating the planning, deployment, and delivery of software products across multiple teams, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe, and experience in payments or financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate program increment (PI) planning sessions, aligning team objectives with organizational goals
  • Monitor progress across teams, ensuring adherence to schedules and managing interdependencies within the release train
  • Identify and resolve obstacles impacting release schedules and product quality
  • Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to define and prioritize features for upcoming releases
  • Promote collaboration and enhance communication between teams to foster continuous improvement
  • Generate and analyze key metrics to track release train performance and optimize delivery processes

Desired Skill-Set

  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies, especially SAFe
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple teams and tasks
  • Proficient in Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Effective facilitation and conflict resolution abilities
  • Knowledge of program and portfolio management practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Must-Have Hard Skills

  • 2+ years of Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Release Train Engineer experience
  • Proven project or feature delivery experience within the payments industry (Visa, Mastercard, Interac, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • Solid working knowledge of Scaled Agile practices
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end payment processing (authorization, settlement, clearing) and technical infrastructure

Soft Skills

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Skilled facilitator with conflict resolution capabilities
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or collaboratively
  • Attention to detail and adaptability

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as Scrum Master, PMP, SAFe Agile
  • Prior experience with TD or similar financial institutions
