Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Data Visualization Analyst specializing in SQL, VBA, and Power Query. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects within a collaborative environment, leveraging advanced analytics and automation to drive strategic business decisions.
Pay rate range (CAD): $38.84/hr – $46.61/hr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports to visualize large datasets for decision-makers
- Identify trends, patterns, and insights through data analysis and visualization techniques
- Collaborate with data and analytics teams to automate and scale analytical solutions and decision support tools
- Extract, clean, and prepare data using SQL, Power Query, and VBA to support reporting and analysis
- Develop and improve visualization solutions, ensuring clarity, usability, and aesthetic appeal
- Document data workflows, systems, and processes to facilitate effective data management and reporting
- Provide training and support to end-users for reporting tools and self-serve analytics platforms
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and evaluate existing visualization systems for enhancements
- Maintain adherence to risk management frameworks and organizational policies in all analytical activities
Desired Skill-Set
- At least 3+ years of experience in technical data analysis and visualization
- Strong proficiency in SQL (3+ years) with the ability to write optimized queries
- Extensive experience with MS Power Query and M Script (3+ years)
- Skilled in VBA programming for data manipulation and automation
- Deep understanding of data visualization principles, storytelling, and handling large data sets
- Ability to interpret business questions and deliver impactful insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Familiarity with data mining, illustration, and creative thinking approaches
- Systems thinking and experience in data-driven decision making
Nice to Have
- Experience working within banking or financial industries
- Additional VBA expertise
- Background in Computer Science or related certifications
