Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Intermediate Project Manager – Equities Market. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a strategic migration initiative in a high-profile Capital Markets environment, requiring strong project delivery skills and a solid understanding of banking technology and processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a ~$2M technology migration project, overseeing schedule, budget, scope, and execution.
- Manage the migration of a business-managed application to MongoDB Atlas, collaborating with internal teams and external consulting partners.
- Coordinate activities across Technology, Business, Architecture, Infrastructure, Vendors, and PMO stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, status reports, and executive dashboards.
- Facilitate governance forums including Steering Committees, project updates, and presentations to senior leadership.
- Partner with business stakeholders in Clearing & Settlements to ensure readiness and successful project delivery.
- Manage dependencies, risks, issues, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support release planning, implementation, and production readiness activities.
- Operate within an Agile/Hybrid delivery environment using Jira, Confluence, and Scrum/Kanban practices.
- Collaborate with consulting partners, maintaining ownership of overall project execution.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within Capital Markets or Wealth Technology in a major Canadian or global financial institution.
- Proven experience leading database migration, application modernization, or cloud migration projects.
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas or similar enterprise database modernization initiatives.
- Strong background in Equity Markets Technology environments.
- Working knowledge of Clearing & Settlements business processes.
- Effective communication with business stakeholders and leadership.
- Experience managing projects within Agile or Hybrid frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Scrum, Kanban, and User Stories.
- Strong governance skills, including executive reporting, steering committees, risk and issue management, and release planning.
Nice to Have
- Previous consulting experience with Deloitte or other Big Four firms.
- Experience working on technology transformation programs within Banking.
- Recent experience supporting Equity Markets Technology teams.
- Proven ability to lead cloud database migration initiatives, especially MongoDB Atlas.
