Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Trade Finance – Guarantees & SBLCI. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, issuing, advising, and amending various SBLCs and bank guarantees, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies, and providing technical support to clients. Pay rate range (CAD): $57.34/hr – $68.81/hr

Responsibilities

  • Draft, issue, advise, and amend different types of SBLCs and guarantees.
  • Review client request texts and provide comments to clients or relationship managers.
  • Process requests and correspondence related to issued or advised guarantees.
  • Release transactions according to volume and team needs.
  • Deliver efficient services aligned with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage workflow, prioritize requests, and distribute tasks to maximize productivity.
  • Participate in monthly reporting and reconciliation tasks.
  • Maintain appropriate controls to minimize operational risks.
  • Offer technical advice to clients and partners.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Identify operational risks and gaps, propose and document solutions.
  • Perform due diligence in line with AML procedures.
  • Execute ad-hoc requests as needed.
  • Be available during Canadian statutory holidays on rotational basis to support US and UK operations.
  • Commit to a minimum of 18 months in the role.
  • Work in a hybrid model: initial full-time on-site training, then three days per week on-site.

Desired Skill-Set

  • 3 to 5 years of trade finance experience, specifically with standby LC and bank guarantees.
  • Strong knowledge of AML regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with the ICC rules (UCP 600, ISP 98, URDG 758).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual in English and French is preferred.
  • Trade finance certifications such as CSDG or CDCS are highly desirable.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of TF360 platform.
  • Understanding of LCBA procedures.
  • Working knowledge of international trade and finance regulations.
  • Experience with customer relationship management.
  • Additional language skills, particularly Spanish, are an asset.
