Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Middle Office Operations Analyst/Equities. The successful candidate will join a dynamic middle office operations team within banking Securities, supporting trade support functions related to equities and derivatives. This position offers the opportunity to work within a leading financial institution, contributing to strategic initiatives and process improvements, with a focus on operational excellence and risk mitigation.
Pay rate range (CAD): $41.21/hr – $49.45/hr
Responsibilities
- Provide middle office trade support across allocation, reconciliation, and inventory balancing functions
- Ensure accurate trade capture, matching, and settlement readiness for equities and derivatives flows
- Act as a control point between Front Office, clients, custodians, and clearing/depository platforms (CDS/DTC)
- Focus on break resolution, risk mitigation (fails/capital), and regulatory timelines (T+1 lifecycle)
- Perform block and step-out allocations across client and internal accounts
- Monitor and resolve exceptions in CTM / matching platforms
- Validate trade economics versus OMS / street records
- Manage DKs, unmatched and unaffirmed trades
- Ensure T+1 allocation / affirmation compliance
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with daily meetings (~1 hour)
Desired Skill-Set
- 3+ years middle office experience within equities capital markets
- Proficiency in books and records systems (such as ISM, SOPHIS, FIDESSA, CTM, CDS, DTC)
- Strong Excel skills, including VBA; 3+ years of experience
- Knowledge of trade allocation, reconciliation, and exception management
- Ability to work effectively under strict deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- CSI courses related to equities
- Experience with trade support in global markets
- Familiarity with automation tools and process improvement methodologies
- Prior experience working within a major financial institution
