Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior French Content Editor / Localization Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating translations from external agencies, and reviewing, editing and proofreading marketing content for client's website, mobile apps, online banking, and other digital platforms. This candidate will review and edit English-to-French translations for accuracy, consistency, tone, typography and grammar. Occasionally, the candidate will also translate copy directly.

Pay rate range (CAD): $44.93/hr – $53.91/hr

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate translations with external agencies and vendors, ensuring timely delivery
  • Review, edit, and proofread English-to-French marketing and digital content for accuracy, tone, and consistency
  • Translate copy directly when needed, maintaining clarity and precision
  • Ensure all content complies with organizational and OQLF standards
  • Develop and maintain French editorial standards and best practices
  • Implement SEO tactics and accessibility principles in digital content
  • Collaborate within an Agile marketing framework to meet tight deadlines
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of French translation and content processes
  • Manage multiple translation projects efficiently and effectively
  • Liaise with stakeholders to resolve ambiguities or complex translation issues

Desired Skill-Set

  • 5-10 years of experience in editorial, translation, and content editing within structured environments
  • Extensive experience as a French content editor, focused on digital marketing or public-facing content
  • Degree in Translation or equivalent work experience in French-language content
  • Native-level French proficiency with strong English skills
  • Proficiency with Trados Studio, MemoQ, Antidote, and other CAT tools
  • Familiarity with French Canadian linguistic and cultural nuances
  • Knowledge of OQLF standards and terminology databases such as Termium and Le GDT
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organization and project management abilities

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in digital platforms
  • Banking industry experience
  • Additional familiarity with Trados and MemoQ tools
