Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a BSA/QE – Payments/Mainframe. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical projects within a high-performing, collaborative team responsible for enabling key banking capabilities. The role involves translating complex business needs into technical solutions, supporting the development and delivery of innovative systems, and working across multiple projects to influence strategic outcomes.
Pay rate range (CAD): $71.37/hr – $85.64/hr
Responsibilities
- Analyze and document business and technical requirements for banking systems and applications.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories using Behavior-Driven Development methodology.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, architects, and development teams to align project scope and deliverables.
- Maintain data on Mainframe screens, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for project tasks.
- Support testing activities by creating test conditions, cases, and reviewing results for system validation.
- Manage requirement traceability throughout the development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
- Contribute to process improvements, promote innovation, and support operational efficiencies.
- Assist in gap analysis, impact assessments, and solution design for existing and future state systems.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in Agile (Scaled Agile Framework) environments.
- Participate in requirement review sessions, sprint planning, and project meetings.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to facilitate understanding and resolution of issues.
Desired Skill-Set
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or Quality Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience inquiring and maintaining data on Mainframe screens.
- Proven expertise within the Scaled Agile (SAFe) framework.
- Solid understanding of Behavior-Driven Development for writing user stories.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for requirement and project management.
- Experience with testing, gap analysis, and defect management.
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with an engineering mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work well in team environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Interac payment systems.
- API testing and Postman familiarity.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Copilot or Github Copilot.
- Prior experience in banking or financial services.
